Barra da Lagoa and Praia da Galheta Trail
The east of the island is a region of Florianópolis with beautiful landscapes and great infrastructure. Barra da Lagoa and Praia da Galheta trail is a great opportunity to explore this area. The beginning of the tour is at Praia da Barra da Lagoa, that is one of the most traditional fishermen’s havens in the city. The walk of about 3 km, approximately 4 hours long. It’s almost entirely overlooking the open sea.
At the first stop, it is possible to get a view of much of the northern region of Florianópolis. From Barra Lighthouse through Praia do Moçambique and Morro das Aranhas. On the other side, you can see the Lagoa da Conceição and several small islands, including Arvoredo.
The second stop of Barra da Lagoa and Praia da Galheta trail, known as “Pedra da Boa Vista”, is a lookout point with a beautiful view of the Galheta and Mole beaches. As well as the Lagoa da Conceição, sand dunes and even some hills of the south of the island, such as Praia do Matadeiro.
The end of the trail is at Praia da Galheta. It’s an optional nudist beach and an area of conserved nature. Next stop is Mole Beach, another beach known for surfing as well as its natural beauty.
